Toronto Red Hat User Group (RHUG) May Meetup – Hands on OpenShift Workshops

January 1, 1970 @ 12:00 am

Hello Toronto RHUGers!

Arctiq is happy to be sponsoring the next RHUG in Downtown Toronto (Red Hat User Group). By popular demand the plan is for more focused hands-on OpenShift workshops. Veer Muchandi will be back with us again to lead these workshops. You can see some of his OpenShift focused blogs here

What is OpenShift

OpenShift is Red Hat’s Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) that allows operators and developers to quickly develop, host, and scale applications in a cloud environment. With OpenShift you have a choice of offerings, including online, on-premise, and open source project options.

This workshop is recommended for developers, operations and technical leaders/managers who are interested in learning more about containers, PaaS and the OpenShift Container Platform.

Workshop Goal

Following this workshop, developers and infrastructure operations technologists will be self-sufficient to test OpenShift for application development.

Session 1:

Deploying OpenShift on your local workstation – in this session we will assist participants in getting a fully functional OpenShift Cluster up and running.

*** Windows 10, Linux and MacOS workstations are preferred, If you are using Windows 7 leveraging virtual box and a virtual machine is a good option.

Session 2:

Deploying Microservices on OpenShift – In this session we will dive deeper and deploy application containers inside your OpenShift environment. You will be able to leverage some of the native features to accelerate your container based use cases.

Each of these sessions will be approximately 2 hours. Don’t forget to bring a laptop to participate in the sessions.

As always space is limited so register early.
